The Vision and Ophthalmology Interest Group at UCSF serves to help medical students gain awareness and exposure to the field of ophthalmology. Our goal is facilitate the interaction of faculty and students for research, shadowing, and mentorship. We provide information to interested medical students on ongoing ophthalmology events, opportunities, and courses. We offer a mentoring program for medical students, organize events for students, including microsurgery wet labs, student-faculty networking events, Q&A sessions on aspects of the ophthalmology residency application process, and provide opportunities for research, shadowing, and volunteering in the community.
